Is there a definitive answer as to why the Desire's notification LED won't change colour? I've tried Handcent and got a blue light for SMS delivery, so clearly it is possible, so why can't any other notification app make use of the other colours? (Is there one out there that I've overlooked?) It seems odd that this simple bit of functionality is disabled on a phone that can do so much!

It's a hardware limitation..... the led is only capable of displaying yellow and blue.

Surely not a hardware limitation then, if it's possible for some apps to display several different colours. My question really is why is Handcent the only app that is able to do this?

(I read somewhere that the Desire has three LED colours: Green, Red, and Blue and from these three colours you can mix a few other colours.)

RGB are your primary additive colours, from these three any colour can be made, including white, but not black..
As to why no one else uses this.. what would you use them for..

I have tried this app for a week and its a serious battery drain. I hope when the app comes out of beta phase the developer implements power optimisation. Until then uninstalled I am afraid.
