I just got a new phone, the HTC Desire S. It is a great phone, but I have had some problems with getting the Wi-Fi to work on it. It works fine most of the time, but it sometimes messes up when I open the Android market. To get the Wi-Fi working again, I have to turn Wi-Fi off and turn it back on. I will become less of a big deal as I install more apps on it and not needing to use the Android Market as much and when I get a 3 sim card which will give me unlimited mobile Internet, but does anyone know how to sort out that problem for now?

I had the same problem. The wifi would appear to be connected but actual data transfer would stop until I turned it off and on again.
I emailed HTC and they were completely useless.

In the end I fixed it by doing a soft reset (take out the phone's battery while it's turned on) and unplugging my router for a while. Since I did that it's been perfect. Except for when the actual connection drops off due to the 'death grip' problem. Now that's annoying.
