Hey, after weeks of convincing my mom, she has agreed for me to get a pay monthly phone on her bank account. I was looking at the wildfire as she has gave me a

Just go for it. Desire is miles better than wildfire.

Desire as wildfire has poor screen resolution so that restricts which apps can run.

Surely the desire will be under warranty so your covered anyhow.

    Hi Dud3shae.
I've had the Desire since May and I have to say best device i've had, by far.
    Does everything very well.
My advice, go for it and don't look back.:)

I have the Desire, and my wife has the Wildfire. So I can compare both. The Desire has much better hardware, and as a result, can run much better apps, and games. For example, the Wildfire can't run live wallpaper. Also the Desire has a far supirior screen.

Well there you have it Dud3shae, unanimous so far :) i also have the desire & coming from the nokia 5800 its incredible how good this phone is.

Not regretted my decision once to buy one. Go for it, you wont be disappointed.

Definately the Desire, much faster and far better screen than the Wildfire.

Make sure you check out as many features on a Clearance handset as soon as you get it. Even if it's things you don't think you'll use.

Shop around as you may be able to get a new Desire for your budget. For example this deal Htc Desire deals with T-mobile

Also consider any extra cashback you can get from going through a site such as Quidco, Topcashback, etc. I've never dealt with the company in the link so I'm not recommending them but I just saw the deal being discussed on another forum.

Well, I'm getting the Desire. My final choices were Nexus One or Desire. I want the Desire Z, but it is not out yet, and will be quite a bit more expensive than the Desire.
Should I have any regrets? :)

I don't think so. The only thing that makes me kind of wish I'd gone for the Nexus is that now half the people at work have a Desire and a Nexus would have been a bit different! The hardware is virtually identical apart from the trackball though.

I went from a nokia e71 to a Hero (and waited months for the 1.5 to 2.1 upgrade), The hero was raved about like mad... I saw the desire and wanted that... I got one and it really is unbelievable just how silky smooth the android OS 2.1 (now 2.2) is...

And I get a good signal without holding the phone in a mad way or needing a bumper cover so my hands don't touch the metal casing...

Desire v Wildfire v Hero v iphone - Desire wins... hands down

Is it possible to get the Desire somewhere in the USA? Boston perhaps?
