I have a samsung galaxy S, went to upgrade firmware in kies this morning, pc crashed halfway through so download didnt finish. now the phone is dead. I managed to find out about the volume, power button home trick but it still isnt doing anything. Tried doing emergency recovery on kies but it doesnt seem to be working, what can I do !!!

I could be wrong, but if you can get the phone into download mode, you 'may' be able to use a program called odin, on your pc, to update your phone with the official firmware.

You will need to find and download the firmware itself, + odin multi downloader + jc3 ops file (used by odin)

Unless someone else has them to hand and can point you in the right direction.

    a battery pull first
then go into download mode (vol down + home + power button)
if you went into download mode , then you can restore your phone [go read about flashing a new firmware using odin] if you can't , then you may need to return it
