OMG - I am sooo careful with my phone, has a case, screen protector. It fell off of my lap this weekend, hit the floor of my Jeep (the metal part) and then landed face down in the driveway (dirt). Cracked from left to right where the lock/unlock screen is and you can see where something hard poked it at the beginning of the screen.

WOW and of course no insurance on my phone. I've never dropped my phone anytime.

RIP another Droid :( sorry for your loss.

Is it still usable? Can you hang with it long enough to get the Function when it comes out? If you can't and want a good used Droid at a very reasonable price, try Swappa.

I feel your pain, but not quite as hard. Insurance is def a gamble, but I've made that mistake in the past, which is why I've had it since. Chief has lead me to Swappa, def worth taking a look. There's also eBay, Craigslist, places like that. Everything's a gamble, but I'm sure you can figure something out. Best of luck to you. And let us know what you decide to do.

So far so good, it still works like it's supposed. I'm just hoping that the screen doesn't come apart. It has a screen protector on it. Next time I'll probably add the insurance - never had to. I think 2 of our lines are due for an upgrade in October so hopefully it will hang on till then. Worse comes to worse I have my droid htc eris that this droid was replacing.

Oh, something I forgot to mention that I do in my thread is that you can replace the screen in your phone. We have a jewelry repair store at our mall that also replaces touch screen devices. For the Droid, it would have cost me $85. Something you may want to look into.
