Dialing issues

Running the new 2.1.. I have noticed that pressing the call button will sometimes call the last number on the history list. But only after 1 second. Very annoying because the sequence to the dial app is 'menu' 'call button'. However, if you already have the dial app as the foreground app, that press of the call button means it dials the last number. Anyway to make this more sane?

Just to add. This seems to be a problem of the dialing app lagging since sometimes pushing the numbers is slow too. This is on a new phone that had 1.5, I immediately flashed to 2.1 (the reason I got the phone), and then did the activation over the phone with a rep.
