Did you TAKE OFF your screen protector?

So I was just reading a thread about whether or not people are using screen protectors and I noticed a trend... most people who aren't using one never have (with the exception of a couple people) so when they say how great it is there isn't really a point of reference. Who here had a screen protector and took it off?

I have the invisibleshield and while I love it I don't remember what it was like without it. I remember that when I took the screen protector off my Omnia there was a HUGE difference but I believe the screen on the Droid works differently than the Omnia.

I am considering taking it off but a little hesitant to throw away $30 (yes, I'm one of the suckers who paid Best Buy to put it on). Any suggestions?

I have the Ghost Armor and while I like it over all, I am getting a little annoyed with how "sharp" the phone feels now. I feel like ripping everything off and just getting a case.

I had the stock screen protector from Verizon and then took it off. Once I saw those videos of how scratch resistant the screen is, and the fact that it was starting to bubble (I didn't exactly align it perfectly) -- I decided to take it off. I haven't had any issues thus far...

I too was hesitant about throwing away money though :)

I have the silicone gel case and I did have a screen protector but I took it off. It wasn't a problem but had a couple of bubbles under it. After watching the "key scratching" demo, I took it off. After reading posts from others who HAVE gotten scratches on the glass, I'm going to put it back on.

well i'll say this...... when i got my iphone they said the same thing about the screen. So i thought "awesome" and never got a protector. After 2 years... i really really needed a protector. So before i even used my droid, i installed the screen protector.
Thats all im saying.

Same here, I bought the protector initially probably just being too paranoid. Saw the videos and decided to go without anything. I have noticed that the touchscreen scrolling is a bit smoother and no scratches yet so I'm happy.

I was using the VZ screen protector. Even did a very very good job installing it. no bubbles at all But, there were times where i felt the screen wasnt as responsive as it should be. I have since removed it. But, I'm extremely anal about keeping my phones safe. I dont put it in a pocket with keys of change.

Hmm, I will probably leave it on. I too have the Zagg and to be honest I LOVE the feel. The guy at Best Buy spent a good 45 min getting the screen protector on just perfect for me which I thought was really cool. I have no bubbles and while its not aligned 100% perfect I can honestly say its about 99% there.

I have always used the Verizon sceen protectors in the past because they're so cheap but the guy at Best Buy sold me on the Zagg by pointing out that they only give you one because the idea is that you will only ever need one... which to me shows the brand will stand behind their product because they know it is good.

I am very careful with my phones but as we all know, shit happens. I have one of the clear plastic "shell" cases for it which I throw on whenever I go out and even though I have insurance and it makes the phone quite a bit larger I like the protection.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses and its looking like I might as well leave the screen protector on... at least for now.

when i got the phone i asked for screen protectors and i got a privacy guard. i put it on and the touch screen became almost useless. i took it back later that day and got the 3 pack screen protectors. i haven't had any trouble with the touch screen since.

I've never used one on any of the other phones I have and have no plans to put one on the Droid.. I like the screen the way it is.

I bought the 3-pack of protectors from Verizon when I got my Droid. The first one came out terrible with tons of bubbles. Took that one off a few days later and tried another with similar results. Ordered a PhantomSkinz and left the screen bare for a few more days. When I got the PhantomSkinz I put it on and there were bubbles, so I was unsure about how it would look even though I know it says to let it sit overnight. The next day I woke up to a flawless screen :) Love the PhantomSkinz compared to the Verizon protectors, it definitely leaves less fingerprints and there's no "orange peel" to it. IMO it doesn't affect the responsiveness of the touch screen at all!

My ipod touch has been rattling around my purse for 2 years with no scratches **knock on wood** and I usually take pretty good care of my toys so I have no intentions of putting on a screen protector.

I bought a invisibleshield, didn't like it. Tried going without one but ended up putting on a PhantomSkinz just because I felt the screen was way too smudge prone w/o it and I didn't like the really slick, almost slimey feel the screen has. The invisible shield was too grippy and orange peely. PhantomSkinz is the in between of shiny and grippy that I like.
