It's the same... in fact, if you have Nexus One and go to Market -> Downloads, you will see Facebook listed there :)

Well the difference is that you can't uninstall the face book on your Nexus.

all I know is the Facebook app sucks... I hope it gets updated soon... it's a bad compilation of app and web access (when you click on your notifications for example)...

It really sucks. I thought it was strange too, when I go to Market... apps like Google Maps show that they are already installed. Facebook is the only one that just said "download" even though it was already on the Nexus.

I find that the best thing to do is just put a Bookmark icon to Facebook Mobile or the Touch Facebook site. This is much, much better than wasting a 1x1 square on the crappy app.

I can't remember where I read it but apparently:

Apple were so hard to work with when developing the iPhone Facebook app in conjunction with Facebook that Facebook refused (so far) to work with any other developers.

What this means for Android currently is that while developers are free to make Facebook applications, they do not have the same access to features that Apple had.

This is why the iPhone app has a nearly full feature set on Facebook and why Android doesn't.
