difference between youtube on your phone broweser and youtube app?

whats the difference between going to youtube.com on your phone's browser and getting the youtube app?

I don't want to hijack this thread, but this is a question I've wanted to ask too, but the difference in websites and apps in general, not just YouTube.

Flash plugin in the stock browser plays nearly faultlessly, limited by only the available bandwidth.
YouTube app is nearly useless, unless you're directly connected to 500GB/second.

They will pry Flash-based Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 out of my cold, dead hands to replace it with NO FLASH jelly bean or worse. Do you have Flash's last gasp installed?

If you do, open the stock browser to youtube. It'll probably give you the m.youtube wap site. It's youtube app disguised. Go to the bottom of it and pick DESKTOP to force it, kicking and screaming, to give your Android the desktop site. Desktop site will play the flash version, faultlessly because its Flash, of course. Don't be surprised if Googly conveniently "forgets" to send you to the desktop site with Flash every time you must reboot it...darn it.
