how do you assign diff sound for text and email?
To change the tone for text messages go into the messaging app and go into the settings and you can select a different tone there.
I know Messages has a ringtone in the Settings for the app (in Messages, hit Menu and then Settings). Looks like Email does the same thing (although I don't use that one myself).
A friend of mine has this device and her husband was playing around with it. Now when she receives an email it's a female voice indicating she has x new emails.
I looked at it for her and in the settings the email notification alert is set to a bell type sound.
She has 1 email acct linked to the device (yahoo) and she used the native app vs. the yahoo app to create the link.
Does anyone have a idea where the female voice might be coming from?
Pretty sure she ha the phone in "Driving Mode" only thing I can think of
That was it! Thanks nastytrooper!
OK, I just got my 4g touch. What is Driving Mode and how do you turn it on/off?
Driving Mode is self explanatory, its just a feature so that you can use your phone safely while driving. Your phone tells you whats going on "New Message from Mom" "Mom is calling" stuff like that.
To access it you must apply the widget "Voice" to your screen. Already pre installed with stock rom. there ya go
