As the tile suggests, is it possible to set a different notifiaction sound for E-Mail & SMS? I cannot find this option anywhere.

Messages -> Menu -> Settings -> Notification Sound (to set your SMS sound)
Gmail -> Menu -> Settings -> Select Ringtone (to set your email sound)

Thanks but maybe i should have been more specific. Not G-Mail, but exchange or hotmail accounts (using the stock mail application).

Don't have the stock Email app set up here but I would imagine that there's a similar setting, isn't there?

Other option is K-9 Mail (free on the Market) which I know has settings for the notification sound for each account.

I can't find these settings in the stock mail app. K-9 Mail is only known to work with Microsoft Exchange 2003 with "basic authentication". No good for me running exchange 2007. Thanks for your suggestions though.

You're quite right....no option to change it in Mail. Guess only option id to set your email tone as the default message tone in the Android settings, then a different sms tone in the messages app.

Perfect solution. Why didn't I think of that? Many thanks works like a charm.

In K-9, open the app, choose the account you wish to edit (I have 3) by long pressing the account. Choose Account settings/notifications from the options, and choose the tone you like.
I have K-9 set to retrieve from 3 POP3 accounts.

I just got my Android and want to change the sound for email and text messages. I know how to choose the sound in settings, but where is the Messages app and how do I find the menu?
