Is there any way to get a different sound to play for text messages than emails? It would be kinda nice to know in the middle of the night whether I need to reach for my phone or not. Shouldn't be an unreasonable request, but I can't see any way to do it on the phone. Thanks!

    Open "Messages"

Menu > Settings > Notification sound

Cool, thanks. I figured everything would be out of the "Settings" menu, but this works.

Hehe, ex-blackberry user? I was looking for the same things the first day i had my phone. I wish android made "profiles" a bit easier like the BB's did

You can use Astro and make a new file called "Notifications" and put it in there. I think that's what you're asking anyway.
