Anyone who has had the iphone 3GS knows how nice it is to double tap the location and useing the compass the app would show which direction your facing. Can you do that on the droid.? I really dislike when it shows me moving down the screen and not up.

Yea, this would be cool. Pretty sure the android maps app can't do this.
 
This only appears to work in Nav mode, not in map mode.

You can simply go into Nav mode w/a bogus desitnation and turn off the sound so you can ignore it trying to re-route you. :)
 
Yes you can do this in maps. Bring up the menu, more->Labs->Compass arrow

The labs are the features they say are not quite ready yet, but I have been using it since I got used to it on my iPhone 3GS and have no problems at all with it.
