I searched for this and did not find a thread specific to the Ally.

Under my RAZR there was a way to mute the boot sounds when the Verizon flash shows.

I have been unsuccessful in finding a solution for 2.1 :(

Does anyone know if this option is available in any of the custom ROMs? And if so, which one(s)?

    Thanks!

As far as i know the animation+sounds are disabled in Velocity v0.2 and v0.3 (someone confirm?). And in Raptor v0.1 there is no verizon image at all it's replace with an "ANROID_" screen,

Velocity 0.3 - the Verizon Wireless animation is present (followed by the VELOCITY animation), but the sound is not

and I'm pretty sure that Velocity 0.2 is the same way (but the VELOCITY animation is replaced by the Droid eye animation)

I finally found the correct search string in the Market.

There's a free app called Silent Boot. Works like a champ!

It doesn't disable shutdown sounds, but the Ally doesn't have any anyway.
