    Hi all,
I'm thinking this might be simple but can't work out how to do it...
I want to stop people that I e-mail in Gmail appearing in my People lists, usually when doing a search they come up. These people are often random people I don't want added to my contacts.
I like to have access to my Gmail account on my phone but want people I've e-mailed not to appear on my phone...
    Is that possible?

You can do one of two things (or both actually).:

First go to "Accounts and sync" then choose your Gmail account and uncheck "Sync Contacts". Now this stops it from syncing any more contacts in the future. Now I'm not sure if it takes out the old ones that were already synced to your phone. If they were NOT taken out you can do this:

Open up your Contacts app then click on Menu button on your phone and it should pop up a few options and one of them should be "Display Options". Click on it, then uncheck Google contacts.

Excellent, many thanks for that marefin, I deselected all the sync'ing with my google account as I didn't want it sync'ing the calendar either. I do use the Gmail application to read my e-mail so I'll leave that to sync.
The view showed I had 7 contacts in there, can I delete them using something under applications? I'll check there again anyway but I deselected them from the view at least.

    Thanks again

You can delete those contacts the same way you could delete any other contacts. Just go back to the display settings in contacts again and choose to display those Gmail contacts, then just go through your contacts list and delete them. Good thing you have only 7 contacts to delete.
