    Is there an easy way or an app to create a shortcut for this?

    When I go abroad I don't want my lovely nexus running up massive roaming data charges. :thinking:

    The app Quick Settings has a data toggle in it. I think perhaps PDAnet (I think it's called that, I've only read other people mentioning it, not used it myself) has the option to disable data as well.

    As long as you don't have allow data roaming checked off you should be fine with the data charges; you could also use the code *#*#4636#*#* and turn off some of the bands.

    i use apndroid to kill mobile wireless - works fine for me - and a separate app like netcounter will show you how much data goes thru each connection so you can check it is working ok. both free from market

    Settings->Wireless and Networks->Mobile Networks->Data Roaming

    Make sure that box is unticked, and the phone will only use Wifi for data when you're abroad. I recently tested this is France and it worked perfectly.

    Dear everybody,

    I'm a new Motorola Android user and I need your help.

    I'm trying to find a way to easily toggle on and off all non-wifi internet so as to preserve data (I'm on a limited plan). I've tried both the APNdroid as well as the Quick Settings tools. Neither have worked. And by that I mean I still was able to access internet after I had turned off the wifi.

    Is there a healthy alternative to the aforementioned tools? Any ideas why they're not working for me?

    Thanks in advance.

    PS I'm pretty technologically... inept. It's very possible that I'm missing something simple. Let me know what you guys think.
