After installing all of my apps, I powered down my phone. After it powered back up, several of my apps were missing. I had to re-install them. The funny thing is that I did not have to re-enter usernames and passwords - all of the data was there. I restored my apps with MyBackUp and powered the phone down. When I powered it back up - the same apps appeared to be missing. The icons were these blue icons w/ a generic gear in the middle, but what I clicked them, they were still there technically. Not sure what to do. Don't want to have to continuously re-install apps.

Did you happen to move these apps to the "Media Area"? I moved a few of my apps from the phone to the Media Area and noticed the same thing. I eventually just moved everything to the internal phone storage and haven't seen the problem since.

I didn't move anything and xda premium app disappeared yesterday. Still there after a re-install :)

Ive installed zedge and google earth three times each. Thought i was loosing it when i went looking for them and they weren't there. I think it might be related to moving the apps to media area like others have said. Bad sd card perhaps? Love this phone otherwise... really fast.

You have 8 GB of storage space. Why would you move an app to the Media area?

That I can understand. I too came from an OG Droid. But I saw the space available and left everything installed - indeed, with the phone comes a game weighing in at 143 MB alone- Let's Golf 2, I think it's called...

I thought moving apps to the SD card was supposed to be a good thing--hence the app "APP2SD". I did it with my Incredible all the time with no problem. If I can't put apps there (ones that I have put there have mysteriously gotten lost as well), then what is the use of such a large SD card??

Because I should be able to move it wherever I want. If Motorola doesn't want me to move it, it shouldn't have the option to move it. It's a bug, they need to fix it.

Some of my apps are showing up in the media area, but I cannot honestly recall moving them their. Is there some setting in which once installed they go to the media area automatically?

Do you have an app that moves things automatically for you?

It's not that Motorola wants you to or does not want you to. I agree it is a bug, but...

If the app does not support it then you cannot move it either. So, you gonna call the app buggy because it does not support moving it?

Seriously, though, Motorola does need to figure out why this is happening - I think it might simply be their own Moto BLAH UI that is causing the issue, b/c it is hard coded to only look in certain places for apps....

It is not puting them on the sd card... The 2 bionics ive had so far both do it and it is random everytime for me... Update will probably fix it.

Talked to Motorola support level 2 on this problem. They told me to get a new phone. New phone does the same thing. Not sure if they are aware we have a problem.

I have seen the same problem with 2 particular apps. I didn't move them, nor do I have apps2sd installed on this phone. And it isn't blur either because I use launcher Pro Plus. The situation seems to have settled itself as those 2 app shortcuts are still on my "home" page.

it's still UI related as well, though.

I made a post earlier about how I haven't moved a thing, and yet two apps appeared in the Media Area - and as soon as they do they drop off my phone as if uninstalled - even TiBu doesn't recognize them being installed.

It's much like the transition to C:\Program Files (X86) for 64-bit OS users like me - a lot of apps at first had issue with the enforced path change....

I think it's the similar ere.
