I am far from a pro but since I rooted I lost the DLNA app but it was replaced with Media Share. I want to reinstall DLNA because it lets me play music from my Escient server on my phone and Media share does not play nice. I did find the apk but I have not successfully installed through browser or Astro. Any input would be appreciated.

Use Root Explorer and put the apk into system/apps. From there long press the apk and select permissions. Check the first two option for the user and the first options for the following categories. I hope this helps.

Try this.... unmount your SD card and try to reinstall the app that way

Having the same issue, not much info on it anywhere. Tried unmounting, tried changing permissions before installing, tried checking all possible permissions. Anytime I try to install the dlna.apk I get application not installed. All other obex files and apk with it are present in the system/app folder

Is your phone just rooted, or are you running a custom rom?
if you are on a custom rom which one are you using.
Apex has the DLNA in the rom still, you might want to try it out.
