Do I have an issue???

    I bought my wife the Droid and the lights for Home, back, menu, search buttons go out frequently, even when the screen is lit up those other light's go out...I can even push one of those buttons and still they stay out. They come on sometimes. Don't know what makes them go out or come back on.
    Thinking this was not right I turned phone off turned back on still the same, I took battery out waited about 15 seconds..still the same...I did a factory reset...still the same.

    Is this normal?

    they automatically will time out depending on your available light. cover the light sensor (to the right of the earpeice) and you will see the home keys light up

    Tapping the camera button will re-illuminate them. That's what I do.

    So this is normal?

    I did mess with that sensor and it didn't seem to do anything with the lights.

    I think it is "normal"as it were. The lighting should not have anything to do with functionality, and if you are experiencing issues, then yes you have an issue. Just lights, I don't think so.

    hmm i have noticed this to and was wondering the same thing, but i think if i recall it does that because the phones screen brightness is set to automatic mode, and not a standard setting. but not 100% if thats the reason that causes it.
