I just got the lg ally for my first smartphone on Verizon. I do not use any apps to speak of but I noticed I used 175 mb data in just two weeks.I know it's not much but I want to "nip it in the bud" so to speak. So if I am doing something careless I want to know if I need the advanced task killer.Thank you for any insight..Dave

Drains battery, they're always working in the background in some manner, you have to constantly tell them which apps to ignore, & then some people forget which apps need to be excluded from task killers, like if they downloaded a clock widget. The task killer will get hold of it & time will be wrong, lol
To close apps you use the back key (if the app has no exit button), or if you hit home & forget about it android will close it after a certain period of inactivity.
