I just got my phone a week ago, and I'm loving it. I have been reading about battery life and such, and I found several threads talking about battery problems after 2.2 and how to fix it.

I just checked my firmware for the first time today and it is 2.2.1. I have been using my phone non stop (its my first smart phone) since I got it, so it is tough to tell what the battery is doing.

All that to say. Should I do the "fix your Froyo" thing if my phone is brand spanking new???

If you are not having any issues..... nothing to do.

My point is that I don't know if my battery is running well, because I have nothing to judge it by. I was asking if Fascinates released after the 2.2 upgrade need to be "fixed" or do I need to go through the "fix" steps anyway.

I have Froyo 2.2.1 and have noted the following on battery life.

Turn everything off that runs in the background. GPS, MobileData, AutoSync, AutoRotation, all the location services. Do not run apps that require Multi-tasking. Those eat up battery life in a hurry.

I only run 1 app and clear it when it is done.

I do not have any games loaded and don't need them.

Using this procedure will let me get 2 full days of run time with modest phone calls.

If, on the other hand, I have all of the fancy features turned on and use the phone a couple of hours, the battery is just about shot.
