Root Do not accept update

The Unrevoked devs are actually looking for people who did install the update so they can try some tests on the patched phones. If you did patch and are interested, contact them through their Twitter account: Unrevoked (unrevoked) on Twitter

Hmm, should I root my phone now or also wait for the update stuff to be addressed? I know there is another method to rooting, though I was hoping on the unrevoked method since it will supposedly be really easy.

What do you guys think?

I don't know about you guys, but I did do the OTA update, and I was still able to get root following Toast's method... I flashed the rom, used connectbot to make sure I could get root (# prompt), and get into the data directory, and I ran the new recovery in without any problems.

Has anyone actually verified that the OTA breaks root? If so... why was I still able to do it?

It doesn't work using the as yet unpublished Unrevoked method. Their latest Twitter post says they are close to getting it rooted even with the update installed.

What makes each method different, anyone know? As far I can tell, it seems the unrevoked method may just be easier for newbs like me.
