Does anybody know how to get into a phones internal memory?

I have a sidekick 4g with a screen that is dark and does not turn on. I can connect it to the pc but dont really know what i click since i cant see..

Does anybody know of a program or something that could get into my internal memory get data such as contacts, and take it out without me having to press nothing on the phone since i cant see what i am clicking?

contacts should be automatically saved in your gmail account.

You'll need to use adb shell. Here is the post that explains some commands. There's a lot of guides on google on how to access files using adb.
