im totally new to the android thing and the evo is my first ever droid based phone. i installed something called advanced task manager from the marketplace however im finding several threads on how its NOT A GOOD thing for the phone. any thoughts on this? i have no idea if its good or bad, but i do know that what shows up in the task manager list of running apps is way different than what shows up in the phones running task list --menu/settings/applications/running services.
what shows up in task manager is a bunch of stuff that running services dont show.
so whats the scoop? to have or not to have? :)

In the long run it will do more harm than help with your overall experience with Android. The build-in memory manager for Android does a good job of freeing up memory when needed and if you want to quit an application you can always keep hitting the back button till you're out of it.

thats just the thing, the programs are still showing running in the task manager app, but dont show in the phones applications. so not sure which is accurate or not.
