Does live wallpaper drain you battery when sleep or when not showing on screen?

    I don't think it does. Live wallpaper has shown ZERO difference in battery life for me.

    really? i love the live wallpapers. think they are completely awesome. but terrified of losing battery life even though i really have plenty of battery to make it through the day usually.

    When it's not on the screen the process is completely idle, so no, no drain.

    I think all the pre-installed ones go to sleep when you aren't actually looking at them (screen is off or you have an app open). Some of them off the market do run on full even when you have the screen off I think. Don't quote me on that though I may be wrong.

    No. I have live wallpaper since I purchased EVO, and I can take my phone at night with 100% and when I wake up 8 hours later, it's at 95% or so.

    I can't swear every live wallpaper is inactive when not displayed, but I suspect so. I've checked 4 or 5 of them. If I open System Panel, and watch the cpu usage of the wallpaper, it remains at zero as long as system panel is open. Since system panel is free, it's easy enough to check the specific wallpaper you want to use.
