I was wondering if the Droid X is still going to get updates from Motorola or has it been dropped for the newer Droid phones they made?

Best answer--if it's under warranty. That's going to be it most likely, no more real updates unless there's some serious security issue.

they wont, they are concentrating on the razr, razr maxx, bionic, droid 4, MAYBE droid 3, but if the X2 sees ICS, there is hope the X will get a port similar, however you will still be on GB kernel because we cannot get the unlock codes for our devices

D3 is supposedly at EOL also. Best bet is CM9.
