I purchased a HTC Desire a couple of weeks ago and it seems to play videos ok. It has Froyo 2.2 installed, so do I need to install Flash 10.1?

    Thanks.

You will have it installed on your phone but it is probably not the latest version,to get the latest version you have to get it from the market, although be warned it is a large app over 10 mb.

I suppose whether you need it or not depends on how bothered you are about playing flash videos/games straight from your browser.

I keep hoping that someday a developer will make a flash-compatible plug in that isn't so bloated. I suppose I could just remove flash, but then I'd be no better than an iPhone

I dont think the 10.1 or 10.2 updates actually bring anything to the table.

I noticed that 10.1 is stock on my desire (uscc-all stock). I have read that the 10.2 version is updated to make it compatible with the motorola xoom and other 2.3 and 3.0 devices( can't remember exactly other than it wasn't for 2.2) so does the update improve anything on the desire? I mean the only thing i use flash for is browser based videos and they still work so didn't know if there were any perks that I'm not seeing. really cant see myself giving up 10-12MBs of space for the update if I don't get anything really cool out of it.
