Root Does rooting hard reset the incredible

    i'm a noob to this and want to root my incredible. does rooting hard reset it?

    still not a bad idea to backup apps with astro or something else just in case.

    While this is a good idea when altering anything major on your phone....rooting doesnt affect any of your info currently on the phone.

    I still backed mine up first jsut to be safe.

    how do you back it up? is there a program?

    Also, if you root, what happens when verizon sends us a firmware update or froyo, do we need to do anything special or can we just install it straight up?

    You'll just need to wait for a rom with the new update incorperated into it to be released in the event they release an ota update. But you shouldn't have to wait very long. Chances are you'll have the rom before the ota is pushed to your phone via your carrier.
