Made a post here a few weeks ago. Not having purchased a smart phone yet, I was debating to not get the iPhone 4S and go with the GSIII. Most replies in the forum seemed to suggest I would be better off going with the iPhone 4S.

I am curious to know how the hardcore Galaxy s III users feel about the Apple $1 billion victory over Samsung and what you all feel about the verdict and the future of the Android OS?

not bothered by it one bit...i have no brand loyalty to Samsung...they just had the best phone on the market when it was my turn to upgrade...

Samsung will be fine...Android will be fine

  3. Link? What victory?

The 4S is meh. iPhone 5 is where it's at. Stay tuned. Of course if you want a big screen then wait for the Note 2 or get the SGS3. But I have a good feeling the Note 2 will beat the S3.

I am sure they will be fine too but after I witnessed the loyalty some "posters" have for this system, I would bet it hit some right in the gut…

Can they still sell the GSIII or is it just the GSII they have to stop selling?

the Apple v Samsung patent lawsuit...Apple was awarded like eleventybillion dollars today...

as for the 5...it will be an incremental step like all iPhones before it...with LTE support...

Nope, no impact on GS3. However future phones will no longer have rounded rectangles. :D

Your recommendation to me who still has not purchased a smart phone. Still using the MOTO Flip Phone. I come close to a purchase, like I did when I saw the GSIII and used an interactive program at Samsung.net. However, I realized this might be too complex for me to just buy it and use it. simple functions or settings were several steps long. Not being very intuitive in this area, I went back to the iPhone 4S. Now since I am waiting for the iPhone 5, I think the GSIII might have too high of a learning curve for me. I would go out tomorrow and just get the iPhone 4S but I am thinking I should just wait for the iPhone 5. I still can't believe I have so much to learn because I have waited so long to get a smart phone. stupid move on my part but you can't say I did not look for the "best" smart phone for me because that was the problem. As I waited, technology went on and right past me.

Apple Scored a Sweeping Legal Victory Over Samsung!!!

  9. Kooler...my best advice is this:

If you have an Apple Store nearby.go waste a couple of hrs in it...play with the iPhone 4S but I strongly suggest you wait until September. If my 80 year old grandmother knows how to use an iPhone so can anyone else! Thats the beauty of it - when technology works for you not the other way around. For a newbie...Android is overwhelming...Apple makes stuffnso anyone can use them. Even the switch from iphone to android...huge learning curve...took me a long time and I've had like 4 androids and tablets and have owned just about every apple product.

Now come on, I did not say I could not use the iPhone 4S. I might be stupid when it comes to learning some areas of technology, I knew I could use the iPhone 4S, but when I was all set to get it I came across the GSIII and that changed my focus. I spent some time in the local Verizon store with a very nice sales rep learning or trying to learn the GSIII. Also on the Samsung website I used the interactive app on their website that was kind of like an interactive version of the GSIII manual. It was then that I really learned there are many functions on this smart phone that should be a lot easier that have 4-6 steps. It made me think; "am I gong to be able to use this phone soon?" "…or will I spend the majority of my time trying to find out how to set the GSIII from turning off when I am trying to read, or some other function the GSIII can do? There has never been a question in my mind about if I could use the iPhone 4S. Yes, I should have just gone for it a long time ago when Verizon had unlimited Data, but that is a different story all together. I came close many times, but like now, I do not want to get the iPhone 4S when the iPhone 5 is due out. Another obstacle for me in getting the iPhone 4S. I can see that one positive point in this is that one can REALLY survive without a smart phone.

Not sure about some of what you are saying, but this Apple Victory has to do with the Android devices being sold in this country.

Honestly...who cares! This won't affect any of us, or the devices any of us buy. This is a ridiculous battle IMHO, and its amazing that its even taking place. Is dell suing HP, is Mercedes suing BMW, is Nike suing Reebok? The fact of the matter is this, in the world we live in, people think they have thought up everything, and these patent laws are just plain ridiculous. Apple believes it created the smartphone, when initially I and a zillion other people were using a Palm Treo, and a Blackberry long before Apple thought up the iPhone, which was probably a stolen idea to begin with. Its also funny how one company who uses an enormous amount of internal parts from the other company to make its device work is suing one another. This to me is a witch hunt, and its Apple just taking its ball and saying I want to go home in the middle of the game because the other team is catching up and scoring runs. Greed at its very best!
