First off, I want to say that I am very OCD when it comes to organization. So naturally, organization happened with my phone too. All of my screens have a purpose or a theme, and that is how I choose the apps for each screen.

    I have the following screens.
The Main screen has all of the apps I use the most. Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Banking
The connection screen has all of my radio switch widgets, as well as the XDA, Phandroid, and My Verizon apps, and the Weather and Calender widgets.
The Navigation screen has everything GPS related.
One screen has all of my games
One screen has all of my emulators
and One has all of my Multimedia stuff(camera, music, video, fandango, ect.)
    and One that is empty.

Now it bothers the helll out of me when I am asked to use someone elses phone to fix something, or tinker with it and their screens are disorganized, or empty.

Is this stupid of me? or does It bother others too?

Whatever floats your boat and works for you but you can't get frustrated with other people because they don't have the same approach.

Smile to yourself and then breathe and LET IT GO!

If he could "let it go," he wouldn't be OCD.

Do you have this problem when you use someone else's computer? Drive their car? Stay at a hotel?

Really, if you can't deal with things that aren't organized exactly "your way", I can see a lot of situations where it's a much bigger problem.

Just stop helping others with their phones?

You might try introducing greater organization to your thread posting.

The title of the thread should be descriptive, so a reader doesn't have to click on the thread to determine if she wants to read it.

So many people do not follow this simple, logical, organized manner of posting. It is quite bothersome.

Your life will be easier once you realize and accept that you cannot control what others do. Mostly, you cannot even control what happens in your life, only act and react the best way possible.

All my screens have a theme too; travel, weather and news, appointments, music and media, most used apps etc. It's more efficient for me that way. I like lists, organizations and fluidity too. But that's what makes me happy. Others like things differently.

I have criticized other folks way of doing things. All that does Is annoy them and make me come off as a know it all. It is pointless.

I noticed people like to throw around the term OCD when they're actually just particular and like organization. That's most of us though. OCD is a real disorder that can severely disturb and lower your quality of life. If you have OCD there are therapies available, and you may want to look into those. Good luck!
I like your screen set up by the way!

Hey you should start a thread called Screen Themes & Organization. We can all list our screens themes and give ideas.

I'm happy with my Travel and Media screens the most:

    Travel:
Google Nav, VZ Nav, Latitude, shortcut to Home icon, Poynt, Places, Trip Advisor, Orbitz, Kayak, Happy Cow, c:geo.

In the middle I have the Kayak widget for fare alerts.

I'd love to hear other screen themes to get ideas! I have one screen that's too random.I really like your multimedia idea. My music/media screen doesn't include camera and gallery, but based on your suggestion I am moving them there. I have Slacker, YouTube, Kindle, Fandango, Music, Amazon MP3 store there now. Thanks!

Now I don't tend to say anything to others about their phones. But it annoys me.

    @Seeker, I will make a thread.

If that is what you spend your energy and time to be annoyed over, you're pretty lucky. There's much worse things out there to concern yourself with.

No. I wouldn't say stupid. There are certainly other adjectives that apply though. Consider that your way (any individual's way, really) isn't the only way.

Doesn't bother me but I don't use other people's devices to fix things. I'm sure there are other OCD people in this world though.

    yes.. you are right..

    you are OCD! :p
you cant do anything about OPP (other people's property).. and no one wants you to do anything about OPP.
so.. focus your OCD on making your phone more organized and be happy.

number one benefit of android phone.. to setup the way you want.. not what someone else thinks is best for you.

Wait...you have OCD, but rather than worry about your issues, or getting it treated, you worry about being annoyed by those who do not have OCD??? You may wanna re-evaluate priorities

Wow. This thread quicker turned into beat he hell out of Amneon because he is OCD. Now, it annoys me however I don't get carried away with it. I don't sit there and reorganize their phones. When I say "tinker" I mean improve battery life, ect.

I guess we're OCD about people who are (or claim to be as the case may be) OCD. :) I wouldn't worry about it too much...but then, I'm not OCD.

am I OCD? no, I wouldn't think so.
But, given the description of your "peeve", yes, I'd get irritated too! :p

I'd get irritated, because the job now becomes a "search and rescue" type of mission, where I have to go through nearly everything to find out exactly where and how to get whatever it is that needs attention.

I'd compare it to the few times people have asked help to backup their computer HDD's.
The first question I ask is "where are all your files?"
The common response is "uhh, I don't know. I just put them everywhere"
... well GREAT! now I got to go through each folder and determine it's "save worthiness". Instead, folks should just build all their file structure in the "My Documents" (yes, I'm Windows based) folder and call it a day. Rather than storing some files on the desktop, some on the C:\ drive, then some wherever else they find.

But, I'm not OCD... I just like things "simplified" and "organized". Does that constitute OCD? nah, I don't think so. :) Do I think you're OCD based on this "peeve" of yours? Nah, don't think so either.

OCD is something like... checking your phone every 10minutes to check that all your widget or shortcut locations are still in their original positions within the page-grid and somehow didn't spontaneously bounch from one location/page to another (ie. you make sure that icons didn't accidently - or intentionally - move the icon down from the top row the the 2nd row)..
    .. ALL THE TIME! ... :D

I'm OCD enough that I almost totally stopped using widgets, cos they never match each other. Awful thing to say, but at least iOS has a consistent look with icons, etc. My "system" page has shortcuts for settings, etc, and I have a widget showing active applications, another showing battery use and a third to toggle screen brightness. And they all look just different enough to wind me up.

Its kinda common sense to put files in the appropriate pre-named locations(music/videos/pics/documents) Unfortunately common sense is like a super power

Common sense is sadly not common. Else we wouldn't have so much trouble and issues in the world today.

@ OP, if you were OCD, you would have gone and changed all of your friends' phone screens so that you aren't agitated because of the mess any more.
