Yes, there are many types of connectivity that can be disabled or reduced to conserve battery. Setting the Power Mode to Normal or Economy will certainly help. Enabling sleep mode will help. Turning off WiFi and Bluetooth if you don't use them will help. Disabling 4G/LTE mode when you can't get a good signal or when you don't need the speed will help.
Lots of these configuration options can improve battery duration. Just remember that they all have tradeoffs. IIRC, if you disable Mobile Network then you won't receive push notifications such as gmail messages.
There's also a 2750mAh extended battery available, which offers a huge jump from the stock 1620mAh.
