Help Double Emails

This started the other day, it went away and now it's come back.

I'm using the Motorola Universal Inbox(stock on the droids).
I've disabled syncing Gmail.

When I get an email ONLY to my Gmail, NOT my Yahoo, I get the notification twice, but it stutters as if the sound stops and repeats rapidly.

I get two IDENTICAL emails. If I delete either, it will delete it off of my Gmail account online. The Gmail account online shows only one email.

What else should I try?

Chmodx, are you stock? Running a ROM? Can I get a little more info? I don't have a clue yet, but maybe that will help someone else craft a fix...

No rom, not rooted. Its only on emails from gmail too

Have you tried clearing gmail cache and data?

I'm not using the gmail app, I'm using the Motorola universal inbox.

It's intermittent now, occasionally it won't check emails unless I go and look.

I've also tried deleting and re-adding the account.
