Anyone know why this is? I think one is from the e-mail app, but the other I'm not sure where it links to. I think ti's from the account google I have added (both are g-mail). Anyway to get one notification?

By the way, this is my first android phone and I love it.

You're probably getting one from the email and one from the Gmail app. Decide which you'll use for your email and only use the one.

Thanks that fixed it, didn't realize they were seperate. Last question, what are the differences between the two?

I just figured this out a couple days ago. It was driving me crazy, once I figured out that just about every app has its own notification settings things got but better.

GMail is just for GMail, Email is for anything.

I have the same problem. So, how do you set it to manage Email and not Gmail?

remove your gmail account under email. I only use gmail, so i use only the gmail app as it has additonal features (starring, spam reporting, etc)

and you can use this tutorial to replace your email softkey with gmail (or rearrange them however you want): YouTube - Samsung Galaxy S launcher bar tweaks

how can the gmail app be turned off, I would like to use the combined in-box instead of the g-mail app. I looked around and couldn't find a logoff option under the g-mail app.
