How can i dowload an alert and use it as one of my own on my phone?
You need to make folders on your SD Card and place it in there. If you want it as a Ringtone, use a folder called Ringtones, SMS/Email Alerts etc, the folder will be called Notifications. For Alarms the folder is called Alarms.
Completely agree with El Presidente's answer....
Thank you very much for answering my question EL President'e. I have another question, this is all new to me so please excuse me for sounding silly, but how do i make folders on my own?
You can either mount the Phone as an external drive to your PC and create new folders as you would in windows or you can use one of the file managers on the market. Astro or ES File Explorer.
Probably easier on the PC though.
I find it easier with file manager than to bother with the hassle of connecting USB, enabling USB storage, removing the SD card from the computer cleanly, disconnecting, etc.
With Astro I just open Astro, hit the menu and choose New Directory and give it a name.
YMMV, of course.
You may already have the folder...look under media>audio then there should be a notifications and ringtones folder. I also noticed if you save an alert from an app the phone does a good job of recognizing what it is.
Thank you all to everyone that replied to me, i appreciate all your help.
