I have an AT&T galaxy s3 and sometimes when I get a normal text without a picture it was sent mms and makes me download it. I will have 6 new messages then I have to open them and download each one before I can read it. I watched a video on changing this setting but my settings were already the way the guy said to have them. How do I make it auto-download? Or how do I make it not be in MMS? From what I have read, people are linking this to iphone users and having them turn off their imessage but it seems unrealistic to ask all my iphone friends to turn that off. I need other answers!!!

If the message exceeds 160 characters, there are 2 choices - send it as multiple messages of 160 characters each (except the last one, or send it as an mms. The SENDER determines which one is done. Since dome people prefer it as one long mms and others prefer it as a string of short messages, there's no standard. Mine is that if the message exceeds 160 characters I send an email.
