    Hi all,

I'm new to Android and the forums. Loving my Android so far!

I have the HTC Thunderbolt and every so often I'm getting a "DRM Notification" that tells me "License Required" but when I tap on it, it just goes away. I can't fugure out what it's coming from to either remove the application of fix the problem.

Any and all hep is appreciated!

    1. Download the Forums for Android™ app!

      Download

  2. Is it just random? Does it happen when you try to use a specific app? Have you installed any apps recently?

Unfortunately, I have not been able to determine a pattern as of yet. It seems to be random, but it could be from a background app and I just can't tie the notification to the actual "event" that triggers it.

Do you have adb installed on your pc? You can do ADB logcat, that will tell you what's going on.

I did that and the only DRM stuff I see in the resultant log is as follows:

    Code (Text):
    1. D/DrmScannerReceiver( 1840): android.intent.action.NETWORK_SET_TIMEZONE
    2. D/DrmScannerReceiver( 1840): time-zone =  America/New_York
    3. D/DrmIntentService( 1840): SYNC_CLOCK
    4. I/DrmIntentService( 1840): syncDrmClock: Update Stamp.
    5. D/DrmProvider( 1840): update notifyChange. count = 1
    6. I/DrmIntentService( 1840): syncDrmClock: Update Stamp Complete.
    7. I/DrmIntentService( 1840): syncDrmClock: Close cursor.
    8.
Does the log survive reboots? I'm pretty sure I rebooted between my last DRM notification and now.

No, you will have to log it after it happens again.

Thanks for the info! I'll grab the log the next time it happens.

When people see this, it usually happens right after they've had the phone connected to the PC via USB. The most reasonable explanation I've heard is that it involves license checking by apps that keep some files on the card.

If you are rooted, searching for two entries with names containing "drm" in Titanium and then freezing them will stop it.

OK, just got the DRM notification (after conectiong to my PC) but there is nothing in the log about DRM at all!
