I first found Phandroid when I got my Droid Eris over a year ago. Loved it, so many people around to chat with and share tips and tricks etc. I recently purchased the Droid 2 (wanted to give a physical keyboard a shot and LOVE it!), and had the same expectations. But, honestly, the Droid 2 area here is pathetic.

Does anyone know of another Android forum where the Droid 2 community is a bit more active? Or did this great (in my opinion) phone just get completely overlooked by everyone due to the Droid X?

Welp, there's xda, DroidXforums, Droidforums, MyDroidWorld. You can check them out. You may find the same thing, though. The issue is that the DX has more customers and therefore more traffic.

Another option is to keep abreast with the DX forum, as pretty much all the stuff is the same. You have the same developers writting for both.

    Hope this helps. :)

Welp, the TB's bootloader is locked but not encrypted. It's not the lock that shuts folks out, but the encrypted lock, to be exact. The TB's been bootloader's been unlocked.

Regarding the motorola thing, yeah, they're gonna lose a lot of us, but the problem is that their hardware so damned superior. It's hard to say g'bye. ;)

Locked vs Unlocked vs Encrypted vs Whatever ... none of it will matter if P3Droid's warnings about the Network Providers cracking down on folks who run their phones with anything other than unrooted stock on their phones. At which point I'll still want a Motorola phone since the build quality is excellent and the internals will be able to push around all the bloatware.

Good point. There's nothing they can do to us for rooting. The Apple jailbreaking case already proved that. Trouble happens when you wireless tether without paying.

I can personally say that in the times I've fired up PDANET to tether internet I've gotten bounced to 1X within 5 minutes every single time. I noticed this happening since last Fall. I really haven't pushed the envelope since. I'll probably continue rooting and freezing with Titanium, but I'm not a fan that the "big brother watching" effect is actually affecting me personally, haha.

I spent a lot of time on droidforums.net. I read all the tutorials there when I rooted and ROMd to fission. Ive gotten help very quickly when I asked questions on most things, others not so much, but all forums can have that.
