I'm just wondering what types of accessories Droid users have bought. I have the Multimedia docking and the car dock both from Motorola. I bought them on the VZW website and got both for around $22 bucks each. I've been happy with both even though I haven't been driving much. Has anyone seen a car dock that doesn't block the camera? Mine does. I wanted to launch Qik or Ustream Broadcaster while I drive around. Just thought it would make for some cool video.
Motorokr t505 bluetooth and FM transmitter. Do a google search for it to check reviews and product indo. Though I must say it is a really nice product! Having some issues with it currently but hopefully those will be resolved
Bluetooth. What an idea. lol I have 2 Bluetooth headsets but I always seem to miss place them or the charging cords.
I bought a bunch of mini to micro usb adapter cables so all my old Razr chargers will work with the Droid. I bought a right-angle converter so the cable will run more smoothly from Droid to cigar lighter when it's in the car dock in portrait mode. As for your last point, someone posted here showing how they drilled a hole in their Moto car dock so the camera can peek through - really quite clever and looked pretty easy to do.
I have the car dock, and I really need to buy a longer USB cable since the one they give you is painfully short. I'm also considering getting an Innocase from Seidio.
I bought a car dock from Verizonwireless, an ultra-clear screen protector from Clarivue, the android sticker that goes in the back of the screen from Grfxp, and a 10' usb cables from monoprice.
lets see... Opening day i got the car dock, soft rubberized case, and a screen protector. Since then i've outfitted my truck to accept direct analog input for last.fm/Pandora. Built a Media Dock out of legos, bought several long mico usb cables, a couple right angle cables, a Belkin usb charger with surge protection, and a car charger...
Friday the local Verizon store had a 50% off sale on accessories so I had to invest....bought 2 car chargers (one for the wife and one for me), a 3-pack of screen protectors, 2 car docks, a pink rubberized case for my wife's Droid and a multimedia dock. Went in for $12 for screen protectors and walked out with just under $200 worth of stuff for just under $100 after tax.
That's being pretty resourceful and a great idea. I'll see if I can find that post. I might end up giving that a try. Maybe launch a blog where people can go on a daily ride with my Droid and I. lol
If you can't find it, the first hole corresponded with the hole for the lens, and then I think he cut a little more to make a pass through for the flash - he ended up with a keyhole shape. It should be easy (the first hole, at least) - it's just plastic.
