I'm upgrading from a generation 1 Droid (after 2 replacements for various issues) to a Droid Charge. I've just received the phone from amazon this evening and I can't seem to be able to activate it.The phone has been stuck on "please wait until your phone has been activated". The amazon instructions only say to put the SIM card in and turn the phone on. Does anyone have any advice for this? Thanks for your help!

I had that problem too! But all I did then was to login into my Verizon account, and activate the new phone there. Boot up my Charge, it was activated!

    Good luck.

Thanks for the reply! Did you just go through Verizon's "Activate or Switch Device"? I'll give that a try, or just wait and call amazon when they open so I don't mess up something.

I had the same problem after ordering from amazon. What worked for me was a call to Amazon wireless's customer service. They called Verizon (while I was on hold) and had them manually activate the phone.

Good luck. The activation card that comes from amazon wireless is definitely less than accurate.

Yup, activate or switch device on Verizon.

This is what I did in the end. Very quick, they asked a couple of questions, called Verizon and had it activated.
