Almost purchased the Bionic had it in my hands at the counter rep booted it up and was ready to activate it. Glad I decided to wait pentile was bothering me a bit. This phone sounds like a beast similar to specs to the Bionic but no pentile check out the rumors! http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/09/24/rumor-motorola-droid-hdspyder-to-be-released-as-the-droid-razr-infused-with-a-qhd-super-amoled-display/
Definitely one to watch! I passed on the Bionic also. Don't want the Prime cause I'm not a Samsung fan. Love HTC (Vigor?) , but not their battery life history, and not really liking Sense 3.5. Been waiting on more info on the Droid HD. Will this be my next phone? Hmmmm The only think I don't like about the Droid RAZR is the dust flap over the HDMI/USB port. Had one of those on my LG VX8300 and hated having to flap it open every time I charged it. Does the flap mean no desktop charger for the RAZR? Maybe it's removable since the RAZR is supposed to be webtop compatible, and it's only there to support the RAZR's splash resistant Kevlar chassis at time of sale (marketing point). Whoops, after going back and looking at the Engadget photos the cover is for the SD and 4G sim cards. So where is the HDMI/USB ports located? You can't see them on the 3 new images from The Verge
I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but SuperAMOLED is pentile. It's the exact same technology used on the GalaxyS class phones, which were very much pentile screens. SuperAMOLED+, however, improves this and changes to traditional subpixel configuration. I know what the Engadget article says, so there is a bit of conflicting info. However, I'll believe it when I see it.
If you look at this photo from the Engadget photos you see a flap door open below the SD and Sim card slot: The photo showing a USB/HDMI ports shows open ports (no flap): The other photo of USB/HDMI ports looks like the Droid Bionic, but I could be wrong. The photo (or render) from ThisIsMyNext shows the flap, but not the ports. Of course, if it's a render, it may be an early concept or a completely different phone. As with everything else about leaks, peeks, and rumors I guess we'll have to wait till it hits the market to get the whole truth. BTW, anybody every seen a cell battery this large? I'm wondering if it's just to keep the case thin (cause the RAZR looks crazy thin for 4G) or might it possibly have inductive charging capabilities?!?
