Droid with 2.0.1 is so much faster - what the heck?!?

Wow, my droid with 2.0.1 is now so much faster!

So it makes me wonder, what the hell was the phone busy doing before this update? Sending data back to Google somehow? Because the speed increase I see isn't just a 10% increase, I mean it seems at least 25% faster...

Its all relative, because i applied the update this morning and have yet to notice a speed increase. My phone was plenty fast before the update!

After my update I didnt notice a big bump in speed either, but then again my phone didnt lag .. only when switching between screens which the update did fix.

Well just for two examples:

1 .Scrolling between screens was jerky. That is gone now.

2. Go to your settings->Manage Applications, and then wait for the whole list to appear with all its icons. On my phone before it would take up to 6-8 seconds for all the apps to list and icons to finish appearing. Now it's like 3 seconds or so. The lists also scroll faster and more smoothly.
