Does Droid work on Hulu.com? I know it works with youtube, but I am wondering if it works on hulu.com, or does Hulu have a app? Widget? Thanks for the help!
Im pretty sure that hulu will be available , but it said only once flash 10 is added early next year.
Currently no app I know of that supports Hulu, and until Flash 10 is available, no Hulu (we're supposed to get it in early 2010).
You can check out m.nbc.com though, it works like the youtube app, and you get 30 rock, community, the office, etc. It's awesome.
Ok I am going to set this straight! There is NO hulu at all even with flash support. This is a hulu rule not limitation of flash or the phone. They do not allow it on any devices other than pc. It is not allowed on phones, the ps3 has been banned as well. I had the imagio and sky fire with flash support and it knew I was on a phone and stopped the videos so don't get excited.
when did this revelation occur? i had an omnia with skyfire and watched them all the time. this was only a few months ago. infact here is a link to another winmo program that let you do it back in august http://www.techhackz.com/2009/08/watch-hulu-on-your-cell-phone-using.html
I have never been able to get the videos on the NBC site. EDIT: Okay, maybe I was just too impatient on my other attempts, but I got it to work.
This all went down in the Fall, Hulu's content providers demanded they stop showing on other devices and so they did. It was all over Engadget and Wired IIRC. Google "hulu ps3"
There is a setting in dolphin too but the problem is that Flash will reveal your real browser and OS. When we get Flash of course
Skyfire and Dolphin both get blocked when you try and access Hulu. I just tried both and gave me the same results as I was getting with the stock browser
Skyfire Beta is out, I am going to look at it now and see if it has cloaking like mentioned by another poster...
http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/24/how-to-get-hulu-running-on-android-2-2-for-now/ Skyfire doesn't make a difference. I'm tired of watching Hulu's Droid commercials and how limitless they are!
Hulu is intentionally blocking Android devices to avoid breaching distribution contracts. Supposedly there will eventually be an Android app, but who knows. A lot of the content would be competing directly with content Verizon already has distribution rights to through V-Cast. EDIT: That article you linked to is old and that exploit has been fixed. Currently there is no way to get Hulu to work on any Android phone.
Looks as if Hulu is avail....for iProducts boooooooo......and they seem to charge for the app......looks as if it comes to Android, there will be a fee....
The iPhone app is $9.99 a month! Ridiculous! I have Flash 10.1 on my Droid. Fancast.com works, but Hulu does not. Bummer.
well there is a way that works. you a have to go into the browser type in about:debug press enter or send or wut have you. then go into menu then go to settings then scroll down till you see UAString then touch it. then it will prompt u with a couple choices then choose desktop. now go out of that. then type in www.hulu.com/widget/player and that should work. Also it may be a paid app but people will get the apk file. just a matter of time.
maybe we arent following correctly, but when you type about:debug in the address filed, nothing happens and when you go into the menu and settings, there is nothing called uastring. can u be a little more specific on what to do? i am assuming this is with the stock browser?
^^Didn't work for me. Still says "this video not available at this site" for both 30Rock and The Office. Fancast keeps hanging at the "starting video" splash.
Yep it don't work.. hulu fixed this a while back.. but wow, reading this thread all the way back is kind of nostalgic. Like that one post that skyfire is coming. Lol "If you can't convince them, confuse them." - Harry Truman
