Anyone know if the original Motorola Droid's battery life was considered to be decent? I saw that it was compared to it but I don't know how good that is. How is it in comparison to HTC Incredible's battery life?

Droid X - 8 hours talk time, 220 hours standby
Droid - 385 minutes (~6+ hours) usage time, 270 hours standby
Droid Incredible - 312 miutes (~5+ hours) usage time, 146 hours standby

Note that the older Droids have "usage time" whereas the Droid X refers to "talk time". I'm not sure if that really means anything, but those were the terms used on the different web pages.

Well they are saying it will have 8hrs of talk time and 220 hrs of standby time vs 5hrs talk time and 130ish hours standby time(Incredible). It also has a bigger battery than the Incredible, 1570mAh vs 1300mAh.

My guess would be that with the Droid X the screen is going to be a power hog, so that would significantly reduce "usage time." I don't care, I'm leaving my Droid behind and getting the Droid X on the 15th!

But you have to also remember it has a 45nm processor compared to the 65nm in the Droid and the Incredible so that will provide better battery life and if you need more there's always the extended battery and I'm curious how it looks since the phone does have the bump on the back.

This right here. If it works the same way it does for the revised 360's, it will be a cooler running phone too.

It does, a processor is a processor. That's the nice thing about he 45nm design, cooler with less power consumption.

The X also has built in battery management software. Curious to see what all of the settings are and if they actually help.

    And higher overlocking potential :D

We did see over 2x increases in the OMAP3 3430 on the Droid...imagine if we could do that with the 3640...

Who needs to wait for Moto to release a 2GHz phone :p

Anyone else wondering if the Droid X battery will fit in the old Droid?

I was looking for a spare battery for my Droid with more mAh than stock, but in the same form factor (not requiring an battery cover bulge). 1500 mAh would be a nice 15% improvement.

^I hope it dont. I hope that the X can have slim extended batteries.

If it fits in the Droid.....we might be looking at fat-as-bricks extended batteries. I doubt it tho cuz of the size of the X.
