Help droid X notification ringtone issue

I can't seem to change my notification ringtone to anything other than the stock options. I have tried to use ringdroid to create new ones and it puts it down as a option and shows it selected but continues to use the factory ones. after i reboot my phone they are completely gone. I recently downloaded a specific notification ringtone and it does the same thing. Anyone else have this issue and if so have u been able to fix it. I apprecaite any help i can get.

have you tried putting them in the ringtones folder?

Ok...i am an idiot. How do I do that?
