Try using Steady Shot from the Scenes menu. Seemed to make my pics a bit clearer.

I have noticed that myself. For an 8 mega pixel HD camera, it takes some horrible pictures. But Hrethgir is right, use the steady shot and adjust your exposure to 0. It takes the best pics that way. Not great in the house, that's when your pics get grainy, but outside the pics are pretty good.

it's 8 mp, but that doesn't mean jack - we're not talking a photographer grade lens here

remember, it is a cell phone, not a camera
