Same thing happened to me, I thought it was a bug related to rooting as it happened to me right after I rooted. I hard reset and everything was fine, shortly after I made the post linked to below someone posted a link to a work-around from the official boards. Check here for the link and see if it works, if it doesn't I know a hard reset will.

Happened to me as well, most likely the "Smart mode" bug. Did you ever turn it on its face to silence an incoming call?

The only known way to fix this is to do a hard reset. There are a couple other methods floating around that supposdely help but personally they didn't work for me. Do a hard reset and then make sure you don't turn on that smart mode again.

When I did a hard restore, IE go into privacy and restore, all of my pictures were still there. My apps were deleted. I think essentially - SD card is untouched, but the internal disc space is erased.

Also, ( I wish I had known this), but with Launcher pro you can back up your homescreens.

Yep. In fact I keep retrying to activate. I finally had it program the phone then just went back to having me activate the phone. Which it will not do now.. ticking me off gives me a number to call,,, but ummm This is my phone.. correction. Finally working.. dont know if throwing it on the floor helped but....
