I bought my droid x2 off of ebay and apparently it is rooted. Either the root program is messing up the phone or it has some sort of malfunction in it. I would like to remove the root and restore it to normal factory state. However, the person who had the phone before me removed the application that rooted it. Is there anyway to reset the phone?

Press Volume down [-] button when booting. That'll get you where you need to be :D
  5. When you start RSD mode, it's actually supposed to stop there. Once you see "Starting RSD protocol support" you're set. It's misleading, and it stumped me. I had to search for days to figure out how to get my phone back to stock after I bricked it. You should be fine.:)
