So I dropped my phone in the toilet last night, I wasn't sure what to do with it so I took it apart and vacuumed the phone for about 20 minutes then sat it in rice overnight.
I tried turning it on this morning and it all seemed to work except it won't connect to the internet (it says it's connected on wifi but it isn't) or mobile data, plus the battery seems to be depleting rapidly (which I'm guessing I'll just need to get a new battery for).

Could anyone give me any tips for the internet or battery, should I just put it back in rice?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Overnight is not enough. You need to assure that every drop of moisture is out. Don't let the battery go back in until you are 100% sure all moisture is gone or you will fry the board and nothing on the phone will work.

Okay thanks, so it's probably screwed? I took everything back out and put it back in rice but I did try to turn it on after about 12 hours.

It needs to be in rice without interruption for days. Not minutes or hours.

Rice, grits, oatmeal, kitty litter, etc. try one of those and leave it buried for 2 days...

lol ive ever heard ppl try ambient heat successfully for example after doing the bury technique wrapping it in lots of socks and putting in dryer for a few minutes lol. Idk if i'd try that lol. I'd probably stick with burying that bad boy... ;-)

Haha, I wasn't, the light was blown in the toilet so I put my phone on top of the toilet with the torch on.
