Does anyone have any predictions as to when this will start to come out?

I'd guess at the end of 2011 (not likely) or Q1/Q2 of 2012. Not sure the world's ready for dual-core phones yet; battery life is a problem with our good ol' single-core 1 GHz Snapdragons as it is.

I read somewhere that the future dual core Samsung chips will actually consume less power than the current Hummingbird due to better architecture.

Unless HTC can find a better way to better manage the battery lives of their phones. Id be very weary of being excited for a 1.5ghz Incredible 2.

Gotta love progress, Moore Law's in full effect; although the thought of either a quad core or 3 Ghz phone in 2012 is insane

Moto was rumored to have a 2Ghz single core by the end of the year but they pulled that forecast and now likely will debut a dual core [probably 1.5Ghz a piece early 2011]. Much like PC's I think we might see additional cores be the en vogue thing as continuing to chase clockspeed could prove difficult with a die shrink and more active cooling of the cpu

Yeah, it's easier to manage heat with multiple cores with a lower clock speed than a single core that's a missile. Heat is the ultimate enemy of clock speed.

I'm just waiting for the days of multicore phones connected via bluetooth to a screen and headset built into a pair of shades. You can choose to view the device in your shades as if on a giant screen, or make it opaque and view data like a heads up display. :D
