Root dx wont take sbf file

Hey guys. I believe might have bricked my droid x after I tried to flash my first rom.( Its stuck on the motorola boot screen and just keeps on going on and off). Well I downloaded rsd lite 4.8 and the 2.3.340 sbf file. I followed the instructions to try to get my phone back to stock, but every time I try to run the sbf on my dx its stops half way and wont finish downloading . Im not to sure what i am doing wrong. I appreciate any help that anybody can provide. I am really stuck and don't know what else to do.

try RSD lite 4.9, make sure you have the latest drivers for your device and check the MD5 checksum of your SBF file against the download page, they should match.
If you are on windows 7 or vista, this problem will occur more often. If on 7, run as an administrator or try to run in winXP emulation

try a factory reset from the stock recovery too

I've flashed the .340 SBF a dozen or so times on win7 64bit and not had an issue. Had to flash the sbf 2 or 3x times b4 tho to get it to take.

Make sure you have the current DX moto drivers for your pc.

Then, while you're at it update your RSDlite to 4.9
